Friday's Feature - reFinds

Share

My feature today is Amy Bonney w/ reFinds. Her etsy shop boasts some pretty original and fun items!

I love these Vintage Tiny Crystal Salt & Pepper Shakers!

And these Capacitor Earrings? Huh!?

Cute dangle earrings made from upcycled black capacitors (electronic components) and shiny silver-tone seed beads. The perfect geek girl gift, but so darling and unusual that folks who've never poked around inside a computer will adore them too.

Now that is unique folks!!

Here is Amy's inspiration:
"I have a passion for things that were built to last and have stood the test of time. I also love to make stuff and believe in protecting our environment, so it just felt natural to start a business that involved recycling, refurbishing and upcycling items to give them new life. reFinds combines all my loves into one really fun venture. My shop features handmade upcycled jewelry, home décor and vintage treasures. A percentage of the profits are donated to the World Wildlife Fund.

The inspiration for reFinds comes from my family. My grandparents taught me to value quality and encouraged my creativity. My dad’s “ham shack” was crammed with cool old second-hand industrial and electronic stuff that was like a playroom for me as a kid. Turning old resistors and hardware into jewelry transports me back to the fun I had exploring drawers and shelves in Dad’s office. My husband has a second sense when it comes to spotting hidden treasures and seeing potential underneath decades of dirt. His mad photography skills help bring my Etsy shop to life."
