Today I will be giving away a beautiful pair of hand made earrings from Jac Jewelry!

Something Blue Earrings - White Pearl, Lapis Jade and Sterling Silver Earrings:


These adorable little earrings are made with tiny faceted lapis jade beads and white round pearls attached to sterling silver chain and silver ear wires. They are light and delicate, and great for any time of the year!
The earrings are 1.5" top to bottom (1" without the ear wires).

Here is what inspired Janna to start creating jewelry:

"I've always liked unique fashion accessories. In 2006, while on vacation visiting family, I went to a bead store with my aunt, and walked out of there with a big bag of beads… I came home and made my first piece from those beads immediately.

I made a few more pieces after that, but did not get absolutely addicted to jewelry-making until two years ago. After designing and making wedding favors, place cards and thank you cards for my own wedding, I thought it would be a great idea to offer customized bridal accessories to match a wedding theme. I created a website and started selling both “regular” jewelry and my wedding creations! Last March, I opened my Etsy shop (jacjewelry.etsy.com), which has become one of the main venues for selling my work.

Now, I’m absolutely addicted to making jewelry and don’t plan on stopping any time soon!"

    Absolutely I purchase homemade jewelry. Craft fairs, and yard sales, bazaars have beautiful and one of a kind designs. I have even been to crafters who make exactly what you want on the spot.

    i do purchase handmade jewelry because i like to be able to pick my color or pattern of beads. and lately, handmade jewelry has been better quality than the stuff i would get in the store (with the exception of the REALLY expensive stuff from a jewelry store). i also like to support our local business people.

    Yes I do...typically it is something at craft show or a fundraiser. The last things I bought were matching bracelets for my daughter and I at a charity dinner/auction for Mito.

    I do buy handmade jewelry. I'm currently obsessed with scrabble tile pendants and if I need a gift or something for myself etsy is the first place I go. I like supporting people who are working for themselves and who make great, quality products. I've also found the customer service to be fabulous!

    I do on occasion purchase handmade jewelry. It is awesome for when you need that SPECIFIC look. I had earrings and a necklace made for me for a ball that PERFECTLY matched my dress and shoes.

    Jewelry making is such a wonderful art form. I am a knitter and it is a craft as well. I have bought a few pieces of handmade jewelry because I know that usually it is so unique that I will not see it coming and going. it is a way for me and the jewelry artist to express oneself.

    My husband picks out polished stones and then works with a jeweler who designs special pieces just for me. Many of my items are from individuals who make one of a kind pieces and they are just as beautiful and special.

    In the past I have bought handmade jewelry.

    Right now money is extremely tight, and unfortunately any jewelry does not fit in the category of necessity.

    Over the last few years, I have gotten into jewelry-making. So I notice all the techniques that people use. It's amazing how awful some people's wrapped loops are(but not jacjewelry's - I looked on her website and her creations are wonderful!)

    Yes, I love to purchase handmade jewelry and most of the jewelry I purchase is only handmade! I love to because first of all, it is almost always unique, one of a kind pieces. I try and dress and accessorize with my own unique style that defines who I am, it is an expression of myself and how I want to be perceived. I also find that I am drawn to the heart and soul that the artists put into making their jewelry alluring to me. I am inspired by the passions of others and when I select a handmade piece of jewelry it is always because something about that piece spoke to me, I made a connection with it, and I find that commercially made jewelry does not have that same effect on me. I am also always amazed at the artistry that goes into making handmade jewelry. People who are that talented have always intrigued me and again inspired me to follow my own personal passions in life.     Yes, and especially for gifts. I watch these commercials for commercial jewelers, and I'm like, why would you ever want the exact same piece that thousands of other people have? Handmade means each one is a little bit unique--isn't that much better? To me it is!
