Jumpstart.com Review & Giveaway

I had the pleasure of receiving a 1 month membership to a new site called Jumpstart.com recently.

Jumpstart.com was created by a company called Knowledge Adventure.Knowledge Adventure has been a leading developer of educational computer games for children for over fifteen years, with award-winning series like JumpStart and Math Blasters. Now, with JumpStart.com their goal is to provide a safe online environment for kids to learn and grow. They have developed an exciting virtual world where kids can create fun characters (Jumpees) for themselves and explore magical lands, discovering and unlocking games, videos, and storybooks that teach everything from math to reading.

My 6 year old daughter really enjoyed Jumpstart. I had to guide her a little at first, but she quickly caught on. I liked that when she placed the browser arrow over a picture of something, it would speak(with the volume up) what it was to her. Since she's still learning to read, that was a nice feature. She enjoyed creating her own "jumpee" or person to navigate the site with. She was able to choose the shoes, color of hair, clothing, etc. I did have a hard time finding story land, and a few other places on the site, but overall we enjoyed the site. Along with the membership you also receive newsletters via email, which I enjoyed. I did have to install a plug-in to get started, but it was simple, quick, and safe.
