Since I started this blog in August, it has grown by leaps and bounds. I have met so many fun & wonderful bloggers & made new friends. I appreciate everyone who has given away such great products on The Gift Closet this year. And I REALLY appreciate all my readers!!

I will be traveling to be with my family...I haven't been "home" in a year now. Therefore, I will not be posting starting tomorrow through the New Year. I hope I don't go into withdrawals!!! It was a tough decision to make, but I won't have access to a computer out there, so I guess the decision was made for me! ;)

Make It Monday - Gingersnap Cookies

When I was a little girl , Mom used to let me help her make homemade Gingersnap Cookies. I loved them then, and I love them now! So, on Christmas Eve when we gather with family to devour lots of tasty finger (junk) foods...dips, cookies, cakes, sandwiches, etc......I will be serving Mom's Homemade Gingersnap Cookies.....made by my daughter & I.

Gingersnap Cookies:

1/4 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. molasses
2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/4 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. salt
extra sugar to roll cookies in

Mix:
1/4 c. butter, 1 c. brown sugar, 1 egg, 1/4 c. molasses.
Blend in 2 1/4 c. all purpose flour, 2 tsp. soda, 1 tsp. cinnamon, 1 1/4 tsp. ginger, 1/2 tsp. cloves, 1/4 tsp. salt.
Cover and chill 1 hour. Heat oven to 375 degrees. Shape dough into 1" balls (about a teaspoon full). Roll balls in granulated sugar. Bake 8 minutes-should be soft.
Makes 4 dozen.

TCM Channel (Turner Classic Movies) is featuring some of my favorite childhood classic movies over the next couple of weeks. I thought I would share them with you for you & your family. There will be more than 25 Live-Action Classic Films-including 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, and Freaky Friday - to be showcased Sundays throughout December.

These will be presented un-cut and commercial-free...yay! I don't know about you, but with Tivo...I am spoiled! I can't stand to watch live TV and commercials these days...I have to be able to skip the commercials or it drives me crazy!

This Sunday @ 7pm there will be a special program that I was able to view before hand last night. It has special feature interviews with a number of people who have contributed to these great family films over the years, including Kurt Russell, Dick Van Dyke, Tim Conway, and many more.

My friend lost her Grandmother unexpectedly this morning, my husband's Grandfather is having surgery this afternoon, another friend's baby was due for surgery today & is too sick to have it, another friend is headed out of town for her brother-in-laws unexpected surgery, and now my 3 year old is running a temp. of 102, after just finishing his 2nd round of antibiotics last Friday!
